The Genealogy of Jesus
In Luke 3, we see how even the genealogy—a passage some might be tempted to skip—reminds us that every word of Scripture is inspired and purposeful. From Adam to David, from Abraham to Mary, God weaves together a history that points to His divine plan fulfilled in Christ. Just as John the Baptist preached with boldness, may we too speak of the Gospel with such conviction that even skeptics recognize the power of belief. This same God, who was faithful through all generations, invites us into His story today.
As we witness Jesus’ baptism, the heavens open to declare Him the beloved Son, marking the start of His earthly ministry. This act is not just a symbol but a declaration of Jesus identifying with humanity, embracing our sin to redeem it. Through His lineage, life, death, and resurrection, Jesus fulfills the promises of the Old Testament and calls us into a relationship with the eternal, triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Will you respond to the God who is faithful, the Savior who calls us to follow Him with wholehearted devotion? Let us take up the call and declare, "Here I am, Lord."
