The Father's Call to Discipleship
In today’s message, we look to Deuteronomy 6 and hear the Father's call—not only to dads, but to all of us—as disciplers of the next generation. God commands us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to pass that love on through daily, intentional discipleship. We aren’t called to occasional inspiration, but to consistent dedication—teaching our children and those we mentor by what we say, how we live, and what we prioritize. A faithful generation won’t rise by accident; it takes hearts set on God, homes filled with His Word, and habits that reflect His glory every single day.
So let me ask you: what does your family see when they look at your life? Are your children being sharpened in the faith like a well-honed blade, or dulled by neglect and distraction? Fathers, mentors, spiritual leaders—let’s commit to being men and women who not only talk about God, but live for Him. Let us write His Word on our hearts, teach it at the table, model it in our habits, and reflect it in our homes. This is our call—to know Him deeply, and to disciple faithfully.
