Prayer appears roughly 650 times throughout scripture, showing up on nearly every page of your Bible. This isn't coincidental. God wants us to understand the power of bringing our concerns before Him. I want to focus on something specific: How to pray for your church. As we look at Ephesians, Paul demonstrates a model prayer that starts with thanksgiving. When I think about you, about this congregation, I'm grateful for your faith in Jesus Christ and your love for one another. This gratitude matters because it shapes how we approach God on behalf of our church family.
But thanksgiving is just the beginning. Paul prays for something far deeper; he prays for perspective. He asks that the eyes of your heart be enlightened so you see your circumstances the way God sees them. When challenges surround us, when the culture pushes against our values, God wants us to recognize His power at work. He has placed all things under His feet and given us, His church, a purpose to fulfill. So I'm asking you to pray with absolute confidence for your church. Pray with thanksgiving for what God has done. Pray that our leadership and our people would see through God's eyes. And pray knowing that God hears you and has given us resurrection power to accomplish His mission right here, right now.
