Christ’s Call to Follow & Reconciliation

We can learn two things from Luke 5:27-32. The first is that Matthew left everything to follow Jesus. Had had wealth and position and left them all to follow Christ. Jesus doesn't necessarily call all of us to leave our work to follow Him, but is Jesus your first priority? If He called you to leave everything to follow Him, would you? The second thing is that Matthew and the other disciples had to put their differences aside for the shared cause of following Jesus. Tax collectors and fishermen were naturally at odds with one another. Colossians 3:12-13 instructs us to be compassionate and gentle, bearing with and forgiving one another, just as the Lord forgave us. Is there a brother or sister in Christ you have a grievance against? Are you willing to forgive and reconcile with them, just as Christ forgave and reconciled you with the Father?

God Bless,
Pastor Brandon
