The Southern Baptist Convention

Here at Fifth Street Baptist Church, we are part of several cooperative groups for the Gospel. Our church belongs to a local association, the Florida Keys Baptist Association, along with other Southern Baptist churches in the Keys. We are also part of the Florida Baptist Convention, which is the state convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention, which operates at the national level. There are approximately 12,000 messengers, a group of church members sent from each church, who gather at this convention to vote on convention business, resolutions, and motions aimed at better accomplishing the Gospel and demonstrating to the world what we believe and why we believe it. This week, I want to encourage everyone that we are part of a larger Gospel network with other like-minded churches dedicated to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth, making disciples of all nations, and baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
