Our Responsibility Toward Godliness

​How do we grow to become more godly? By setting aside personal time, quiet time to read the scriptures and meditate on them. Meditating simply means thinking deeply about those scriptures, which should lead us to pray and communicate with God. We seek to grow, trusting the Holy Spirit to ultimately bring about that growth. This isn't an excuse to be lazy, to sit back and think, "Well, the Holy Spirit's going to make me holy, so I don't have to try." That misses the point entirely. We are called to pursue holiness and to practice godliness.
