Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath
In Luke 6, Jesus confronts the Pharisees and declares something bold: “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.” He’s not just redefining tradition—He’s reminding us what the Sabbath was always meant to be. The Pharisees saw it as a day filled with burdens, rules, and restrictions, but Jesus shows us it's a gift—a day made for us to rest, to be refreshed, to reconnect with God. And when compassion and human need meet tradition, Jesus makes it clear: mercy wins every time.
So I ask you—are you keeping the Sabbath like a law or living it as a blessing? Do you see time with God as an obligation or as an invitation? Jesus didn’t just talk about compassion; He demonstrated it, restoring a man’s withered hand and revealing God’s heart. Let’s be people who follow His lead—resting well, loving deeply, and putting people before our preferences. Because the same Jesus who is Lord of the Sabbath is Lord over all, and He’s calling us not into religion—but into relationship.
