Messengers From John the Baptist Pt.2

Jesus is the one we have been waiting for. When John the Baptist questioned if He truly was the Messiah, Jesus did not respond with empty words but with power. The blind received sight, the lame walked, the lepers were cleansed, the deaf heard, the dead were raised, and the poor heard the good news. John was not a flimsy reed or a man of earthly riches, but a prophet chosen to prepare the way for the Lord. Yet even the least in the kingdom of God is greater, for the new covenant we have in Christ surpasses all that came before.

But the question remains; how will we respond? Will we be like the repentant who acknowledged God's justice and turned from their sin, or like the self-righteous who rejected His call? Jesus warns that those who cling to their own way are like children who refuse to join the song. Whether through John’s call to repentance or through Christ’s invitation to feast, the self-righteous remain unsatisfied. Yet wisdom is proved right by her children. Let us repent, believe, and follow Him, for He is the way, the truth, and the life.
