Known By Our Love
The world is watching us. They want to know if what we say about Jesus is real. And Jesus Himself told us exactly how they will know we belong to Him. It is not by our knowledge of Scripture, not by our beautiful buildings, not by our programs or our music. Jesus said the world will know we are His disciples by our love for one another.
Do you love your brothers and sisters in Christ even when they've wronged you? Because Jesus didn't wait for us to deserve His love. He died for us while we were still sinners, and that's the radical, sacrificial love He commands us to show each other. We must love with humility like Christ washing His disciples' feet. We must love despite betrayal just as Jesus loved Judas knowing what he would do. And we must love knowing the cost because Christ paid the ultimate price on the cross for us. When we show this kind of love to one another, the world will see Jesus Christ, and they'll ask what makes us different, and we can tell them, it's because of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
