Like a Child

To enter God's kingdom, we must come to Jesus with childlike faith. When parents brought their young children to see Jesus, the disciples tried to send them away, thinking he was too busy for something so unimportant. But Jesus welcomed the children, saying the kingdom belongs to those with faith like a child.

What does it mean to have childlike faith? It means coming to Jesus in complete dependence, like a helpless infant relies fully on their parent. It's recognizing we can't save ourselves and trusting completely in Christ's grace. Most people come to faith at a young age. We should seek to emulate a child's sincerity and humility.

Coming to Jesus like a child means three things. First, recognizing our sinfulness and need for a Savior. Second, asking Jesus by faith to forgive our sins. Third, simply receiving salvation as a free gift, not something we earn. Just as a child receives a parent's care, we humbly accept God's blessing.

If we're unwilling to come to Jesus with childlike humility, we won't enter his kingdom. But when we lay down our pride and rely fully on him like a child relies on a parent, Jesus gladly receives us into his family. Childlike faith means total trust in and dependence on him.
