The Great Commission
In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus gave His Great Commission to His disciples and to us today. This passage reminds us that Jesus holds all authority in heaven and on earth; He is Lord over all creation, our lives, and even our deepest doubts. The disciples themselves, standing on that mountaintop, were still wrestling with uncertainty, yet they stepped forward in faith to follow Jesus’s call. Like them, we’re invited to go into a world in desperate need of hope, carrying with us the life-changing message of salvation in Christ alone. This mission isn’t bound by geography, culture, or circumstance—it’s a call to reach all people, everywhere.
Here in Key West, we face unique spiritual battles, but we don’t go alone. Jesus promises to be with us always, empowering us through His Spirit to shine light in dark places. Through prayer, sharing the gospel, and living as disciples ourselves, we become a part of God’s unstoppable work. He will use our faithfulness, no matter how small, to transform lives, families, and generations. Church, Jesus is Lord over our doubts, our struggles, and this very island. Let’s take the next step in faith, trusting that He is with us every step of the way.
