Give Thanks for the Victory!

Paul was addressing the question of what happens to believers when Jesus returns - those alive will be "changed" and receive imperishable bodies. Paul says we should give thanks to God for giving us victory over death through Jesus Christ. Because of what Jesus did, we have victory over the consequences of sin, our sinful flesh, death itself, and the enemy Satan. We should be thankful for our salvation in Jesus, our ongoing sanctification, God's blessings, the church, and our future hope. Our response should be to give wholehearted thanks to God for all that Jesus accomplished - His perfect life, atoning death, conquering resurrection, and promised return. We have overwhelming reason to express heartfelt gratitude through song, prayer, baptism, commitment, and more. Jesus achieved victory over sin and death on our behalf, and our right response is deep thanksgiving and dedication to Him.
