John is Born
In Luke 1:57–80, we witness the miraculous birth of John the Baptist and the fulfillment of God's promises through the faithfulness of Zacharias and Elizabeth. This passage reminds us that God's plans often defy our expectations but are always perfect. When Zacharias declares, “His name is John,” it’s a proclamation of obedience, pointing to the graciousness of God who gives us not just what we need but a Savior to redeem the world. John’s birth ignites excitement for the coming Messiah, and his life mission is clear: to prepare the way for Jesus, the light of the world. Like John, our purpose is to shine a light on Christ and lead others to salvation.
As we enter the Christmas season, let us remember that the manger is incomplete without the cross. Jesus came to bring redemption through His sacrifice, and because of His finished work, we can celebrate His birth with joy and hope. Let our legacy not be in our achievements but in how we point others to Christ. This Christmas, may we carry the good news of Jesus to a world in darkness, offering the knowledge of salvation, the light of God’s truth, and the peace that surpasses all understanding.
