Live Ready for Christ’s Return
How should we live?
As a believer, we should live continually ready for Christ's return. Think of it like a hurricane. I live in Key West, and hurricanes are a reality for South Florida. When we see that a hurricane is coming, we prepare. We don't wait to see exactly when the storm will arrive, what path it will take, or how strong it will be because any prediction is just that—a prediction. The storm could arrive a day or so earlier than predicted, and if we wait until the last minute, we may run out of time to prepare.
So too must the believer be ready. We need to prepare now for Jesus' return by practicing active readiness—living in a way that honors Christ: reading the Scriptures, praying daily, sharing the Gospel with others, living in a way that pleases Him, denying ourselves, taking up our crosses, and following Him.
Just as Jesus teaches, a master may return at night, and we don't know the exact time. He wants to find His servants ready. If He finds them asleep, they will miss the blessing and may even face punishment. We cannot afford to miss this blessing. We must be ready.
