Be Humble Like Jesus
"Have this attitude in yourselves that was in Christ Jesus."
That's what Paul writes in Philippians 2, and he encourages us to be humble. He points to the example of Jesus Christ, who is fully man and fully God, and who emptied himself.
He came humbly in the form of a bondservant. Theologically, Jesus didn't stop being God when he became human, yet he set aside many of those privileges so he could come, live as a man, and die on the cross.
Jesus is fully man and fully God, and he set the example for us to be humble and to count one another as more important than ourselves. This is a radical call for Christians to follow, so that the world looks at us, sees us model Christ, and then we are able to tell them the good news about Jesus Christ, who came into this world, lived a perfect life, and died on the cross to pay the price for our sins, so that we, if we believe, would be saved.
