Weekly Update | December 16th
This Christmas Season
I am so thankful for each one of you who tunes into the regular weekly updates. As we draw closer to Christmas, let me encourage you to take time to start or refresh family traditions celebrating the birth of Christ. You may read an Advent Devotional, the Christmas Story from Scripture, or both. Set aside time with your family to delve into Scripture.
Christmas represents the great breaking of silence. The Promised One foretold throughout the Old Testament has arrived. “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace” (Isa. 9:6). We must never exchange that glorious promise for a commercialized Christmas, the significance of God coming down, or forget the wonder of what Christ did for us.
This reason, more than any other, is why we can have Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love, not because of the world or any secular reason - because of Christ. Ever remember His love for us, and may we seek His glory alone.
God Bless,
Pastor Brandon
