Things to Come Pt. 3
In this sermon, we explore the profound truth that God created us to experience a life filled with joy and fulfillment, yet since the fall of Adam and Eve, humanity has been mired in brokenness due to our sin. This brokenness pervades the world, but God, in His infinite grace, has provided a path to redemption through His son, Jesus Christ. Jesus, who lived a perfect life, died on the cross to atone for our sins, and remarkably, rose again, conquering death and offering us the promise of eternal life. This act of divine love and sacrifice invites us to turn from sin and embrace a reconciled life with our Father in Heaven.
As we await Jesus’s promised return, we find ourselves in an interim period, where we are called to actively participate in God's kingdom by fulfilling the Great Commission. This involves proclaiming the Gospel and preparing ourselves and others for the final days, which Jesus vividly describes in the Olivet discourse. We are to stay vigilant, recognizing the signs of the times, just as one can predict summer’s arrival by the budding of a fig tree. This sermon urges each of us to live with the anticipation of Jesus's return, engaging in our divine mission with renewed zeal, knowing that our labors in faith are not in vain and that ultimately, every knee will bow before the returning King, Jesus Christ.
