The Fruit of Judgement
If we want to know who we truly are, we need to look at the fruit our lives produce. Jesus says every tree is known by its fruit. So we must ask ourselves, what fruit are we bearing? The fruit of a bad tree is judgment, condemnation, and pride, but the fruit of a good tree is forgiveness, mercy, and love. We are called not to ignore sin, but to confront it with humility, to remove the log in our own eye before addressing the speck in our brother’s. True discernment comes from a heart transformed by Christ, not puffed up with pride.
God calls us to examine the substance, character, and fruit of our judgment. What we fill our hearts with, whether pride or grace, will come pouring out when life presses us. So are we bearing the fruit of the Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control? Or are we bearing something bitter and self-righteous? Let us fill ourselves with the Word of God, treasure it in our hearts, and let the Spirit shape us into people who resemble Christ. Because good trees don't produce bad fruit, and God's people are known by what flows out of their lives.
