Jesus Heals a Centurion's Servant
When the Roman centurion heard about Jesus, he didn’t come with pride or credentials. He came with faith. A Gentile outsider, trained in authority and command, he recognized true power not in rank or sword but in the word of Christ. He believed Jesus could heal from afar, without touch, without presence, without ritual. And Jesus marveled at this man’s faith. Not in all of Israel had He found faith like this. The centurion knew he was unworthy and still believed. That kind of belief, that humility, is the model we are called to follow.
So I ask you, do you have faith like that? A faith that trusts when you don’t have all the answers. A faith that moves even when healing hasn’t come. A faith that rests not on who you are or what you’ve done, but on who Jesus is and what He has the power to do. If a Roman soldier can come to Christ in humility and be commended for great faith, then so can we. Let us hear the word of Jesus today and be not just hearers, but doers, living out a faith that believes He can speak and it is done.
