The New Self Pt.2
In Colossians chapter 3, we are reminded of the incredible transformation that takes place when we put our faith in Jesus Christ. Just as an athlete wears their team jersey with pride, we, as believers, are called to represent Jesus in everything we do. The old self—our sinful actions and attitudes—has no place in our lives anymore. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are to put away immorality, anger, slander, and all forms of evil that once defined us. We are a new creation in Christ, and our lives must reflect that change.
As members of God's family, we are united under Christ, with no room for divisions or barriers. Whether we were once separated by race, status, or background, we are now one in Jesus. This new identity calls us to live holy lives, working out our salvation with fear and trembling, trusting in the Spirit’s power to help us live for God’s glory. The time to respond is now—whether through repentance or embracing the truth of the gospel—let’s live as the new people God has made us to be.
