The Florida Baptist Convention

Church messengers from Fifth Street attended the Florida Baptist Convention this week. The Florida Baptist Convention is the state organization that Fifth Street Baptist Church is part of, as a member of the Southern Baptist Convention at the national level. I want to encourage everyone that our strength here at Fifth Street is that, although we are on an island, we do not do ministry alone on an island! We cooperate with Southern Baptists across the country for Gospel ministry. Dr. Stephen Rummage, the executive director-treasurer of the Florida Baptist Convention, shared a group encouragement for the Cooperative Program. That program has been in place for 100 years and serves as the vehicle through which we support missions: planting churches and funding missionaries around the world to be the Lord's witnesses to the ends of the Earth!
